Fair Haven Area CROP Walk

Since the year 2001, the people of Castleton, Poultney, Benson, West Haven, Fair Haven and beyond have hosted an autumn CROP Walk.

One of thousands of CROP walks across America,

our walk involved 20+ groups, 250 walkers and helpers, and raised over $13,000!

About $3,000 will serve hungry people in the Fair Haven area.

IN eleven years we have raised $118,000!

What Happens in a CROP Walk?

You walk and seek sponsors who contribute.

We want everyone to be able to participate
so some friends in wheelchairs or who can go just a little way, just walk in the park,
others walk 3 or 5 miles to identify with many people who MUST walk for water, food, survival.

at the First Congregational Church of Fair Haven UCC.

See photos and stories from our rally!

We enjoyed one-half hour to meet Regional Director, Bert Marshall

and see and hear the personal stories of who and how we help!

Get your walker's packet or group packet from Tamra Staudter

at 468-5453.

Or just come see what the walk is about!

If you would like to participate, e-mail or give a call to co-chair Tamra Staudter

at 802-468-5453

Walkers receive a sponsor envelope at the rally or from the recruiters and go get donations to sponsor their walk. One first time walker raised nearly $1,000 from friends, colleagues, and family! If you'd like to be a sponsor or a recruiter or a walker for 200, give Carol (468-5309) a call!

The Walk! at 1:30 on Sunday, September 25, 2011, all of us walkers will register in the Park in Fair Haven, and we will take off on our walk at 2:00! We have three routes so anyone can participate.. A map will be available at the walk and there will be signs at every corner.
A. All of us will walk or wheel through the park. Some of us will go only as far as our health or mobility will allow us.
B. Many folks will continue up Rt. 22A, across Fourth St., back down North Main Street and return to the park.
C. The more robust walkers will go through the park, up Rt. 22A, and journey up to the airport on Airport Road. Turing around at the end of the runway they will come back, continue across Fourth Street and come down North Main Street to the Park.

And at the end of the walk we enjoy ice cream, other refreshments, music, and fellowship!

Awesome Results! EVERY TIME we see a disaster on TV, or read about one in the news, WE WILL BE THERE HELPING through our CROP walk! If you feel helpless before the problems of the world, here's hope and power to make a difference! From your own home town (up to 25% of the money raised stays in town to help hurting and hungry people), across the country (like Florida after the devastating storms) to the far reaches of the globe - Afghanistan, Viet Nam... wherever there are hurting people, we - through our CROP Walk - are helping!
